"Anne, Sara,
and Nick" Creations
"Quality & Individuality Expressed"

Begun in January 2010 in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Arsenic Creations is the creative brainchild and business of Anne Mullenniex, designed with the goal of showcasing the talents of various family members.

Anne chose the name as an acronym for the three family members whose work is currently highlighted in this website: i.e., ("Anne" + "Sara" + "Nick") scrambled then chopped = ARSENIC. As "Arsenic and Old Lace" is a family movie favorite, the name seemed an amusing and obvious choice...
A retired community college instructor with degrees in Biology, Anne integrates her love for science into her art, often including recognizable species of flora and fauna in her pen-and-ink sketches. Besides sketching and painting, she enjoys a multitude of creative media, including but not limited to ceramics & clay sculpture, stained glass mosaic, weaving, and jewelry-making. Anne writes creatively as well -- examples of her work can be found online under various pseudonyms; one may find her DIY articles under both the pen name "Amazed Anew" and Anne Mullenniex, or poetry, short stories, and random thoughts through Triond under "anglermom." Anne also contributes poetry and short stories to the Arsenic Creations page -- 'the Writer's Den'.
A semi-pro pool-player, Sara has participated in local Washington state BCA tournaments. She is now busy helping her partner/boyfriend renovate a 50-foot houseboat in beautiful Discovery Bay, CA while still finding time to create her amazing artwork. Sara works primarily with graphite, airbrush and acrylics. She and her brother Nick also share short stories and poetry on this website, while Nick contributes beautiful amateur photography as well.

In July of 2012, Arsenic Creations -in the person of Anne- moved to Nebraska for 7 months, where she completed a series of western art paintings. She then headed to the northern Cascades of California for nine months, where she participated in an enjoyable festival and turned her attention to creating a line of woven bracelets. She completed the circle in January of 2014 when she returned to the Pacific Northwest and opened a little store in The Bellingham, WA Flea Market. In April of 2014 she accepted an offer to volunteer at a remarkable art community called the Grünewald Guild, packed up her short-lived store, and soon found herself in the mountains outside of Leavenworth, WA. She lived in a tent on a ledge above the Wenatchee River for four months while communing with nature in all its splendor, and volunteering her time as the guild gardener. Following the gardening she stayed the winter as an artist-in-residence, and had plans to stay on as temporary staff. As luck would have it the office manager found greener pastures and the job was a good fit for Anne. Besides learning everything she can in the 8 studios on the Guild campus, Anne has the time and inclination to meditate and delve deeper into the responsibilities of being an artist.
